BCA students place in poster contest

Bethlehem Christian Academy students recently competed for spots in this year’s Noon Lion’s Club “Journey of Peace” poster contest. Five students made the final round of the competition at BCA: Natalie Wellborn (eighth grade) was the first-place contestant, while Gray Emmett (eighth grade) and Mark Shevchuck (eighth grade) tied for second place and Sofia Sheychuck (sixth grade) and Bella Fry (sixth grade) tied for third place. Wellborn went on to win first place in all of Barrow County, competing with students from many other schools. She will receive $100 and her poster will move on to compete at the state level. Wellborn is pictured demonstrating her art work at a club meeting. Also pictured, from left to right, are Dottie Reynolds, Derek Hutchings, Sofia Sheychuck, Bella Fry, David Martin, Mark Sheychuck, Joann Smith, Gray Emmett, Bob Norton, Natalie Wellborn and Jill Birt, BCA art teacher.
