Brevard elected state Beta president

Lindsey Bevard, left, a fifth-grader at Holsenbeck elementary and president of her local Beta club chapter, was elected elementary junior Beta club president for the state of Georgia. Her sponsor April Balenger, right, a fifth-grade teacher at Holsenbeck, and the elementary junior Beta club state-elect sponsor, said Lindsey's "campaign speech was filled with passionate words of empowerment and encouragement by extraordinary women, past and present. She made her school proud with her vibrant words highlighting the pillars of the Beta club motto, we lead by serving others. Balenger has worked with Beta club students in various counties for more than 15 years. She started the Holsenbeck chapter in 2017 with more than 20 members and now the club has more than 60 members from fourth- and fifth grades.
