JROTC cadets receive awards at annual military ball awards event

The Barrow Brigade Military Ball was held at the Barrow County Leisure Services Center on Friday, Feb. 28, and various awards were presented to cadets that achieved excellence during 2019-2020. Presenting the awards from AMVETS Post 12 was service officer, Wanda Rice, middle. The first awards went to Winder-Barrow High School JROTC cadets Kathryn L. Cushing and Dakota N. Coile-Watkins. The next awards went to Apalachee High School JROTC cadets Abigail R. Bugg and Lee D. Kellogg. Cushing, Coile-Watkins, Bugg and Kellogg are pictured from left with Rice. Awards are presented each year by AMVETS Post 12 to various JROTC programs at the area high schools. The awards to the cadets include a certificate and an AMVETS medal.
