PHOTOS: FFA Ag Doggs achieve success at local livestock shows

On Aug. 8, the Winder-Barrow High School FFA Swine Show Team visited the Jackson County Agricultural Center for the Hawgs Gone Wild Swine Show, hosted by the Madison County Young Farmers. Addie Pierce, Kyleigh Norwood, and Trinity Dismuke all participated in showmanship and class. Kyleigh Norwood placed fourth in weight class with her crossbred barrow Buckeye. The following week on Aug. 15, the Dairy Show Team exhibited their stock at the Clarke-Oconee Cattleman’s show at Heritage Park. The team consisted of Dismuke and Pierce. Pierce placed second in showmanship and fourth in weight class with her dairy heifer Willow. Dismuke also placed second in showmanship. Dismuke had success in her weight classes, receiving first and third in weight class with each of her heifers. Dismuke’s heifer Daisy was awarded Reserve Champion Commercial Dairy Heifer.
