St. Anthony’s donates to school system program

Claudia Shedd, left, who is chairperson of outreach for St. Anthony’s Episcopal Church, presents a "big check" to Ellen Petree, Barrow County schools, for $825 to sponsor three of the 300 BCSS students in the weekend meal bag – Feeding Barrow program (formerly named Food2Kids Barrow.) Students receive a bag of food on Fridays that provides six meals and two snacks from Friday night until Sunday night each weekend. Students served by the Feeding Barrow Program depend primarily on school meals during the week as their primary food source. St. Anthony’s has been a long-time supporter of the program.
