PHOTO: Gober wins five swimming medals at AAU Junior Olympics

Swimmer Peyton Gober from Winder competed in the 54th AAU Junior Olympic Swimming Championships last week at the Cocoa Beach Aquatic Center in Florida and won five medals. Gober, 10, was the silver medalist in her age group in the 25-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard freestyle. She was the bronze medalist in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle and also finished fourth in the 50-yard butterfly and fifth in the 25-yard butterfly. She achieved five personal-best times in the events. Gober is the daughter of Randy and Allison Gober of Winder and swims locally for the Brad Akins YMCA Barracudas, coached by Meredith Green.
