Pre-K students had a great turnout for an exceptional learning opportunity at the West Jackson Primary School.

The nearly 300 youngsters from all six surrounding elementary schools gathered at the former site of WJPS to visit with health and safety personnel, public agencies, private businesses and dozens of others during the Community Cares 4 Pre-K Day.

Lots of parents and grandparents joined teachers and parapros to lead the children through the various stations, helping representatives lift the children into tractors, trucks and emergency vehicles. They learned that food comes from farms, that matches and lighters should be handled by adults, that trash pollutes our waterways and more.
