The Shields-Ethridge Heritage Farm will hold the Black Pot Cooking Festival on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under. The ticket covers a lunch of BBQ, stew, slaw, beans, pickle and chips, as well as tea, lemonade or water.

The event will include Southern gospel music sponsored by the Dyer Family and Friends, children's activities and local growers and vendors.

Boston Butts smoked by Dewey Johnson will be sold for $30 as a fundraiser for the Shields-Ethridge Farm, a 200-year-old farm. Pick up will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 19.

The event is sponsored by the Farm Bureau of Jackson County. The Shields-Ethridge Farm is located at 2355 Ethridge Road, Jefferson.
