Bush River men plan program Saturday

The Bush River Baptist Church men will have a “What’s on your mind?” program from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

All area men, pastors and deacons, ages 13 and up, are invited.

Northeast Church hosts citizenship classes

Northeast Church will have a free citizenship class beginning att 6;30 p.m. Sept. 18.

The class will be at the Country Inn Suites, 925 Hwy. 124, Braselton.

The class will help to prepare for the citizenship interview and assist in preparation of the N400 packet.

Students must be 18 and show proof of residency. Classes start weekly and meet every Wednesday evening.

Women’s day set

Paradise AME Church will celebrate the annual women’s day.

A prayer breakfast will be held at 9 a.m. Sept. 21 in the fellowship hall.

Minister Laveda Daniel of Beyond Words Baptist Church will be the speaker. A donate of $7 is requested for breakfast.

The women’s day services will start at 10 a.m. Sept. 22. The church’s first lady Dianne Wynn will speak. The Rev. Michelle Rizer-Poole from Bethel AME Church in Gainesville will speak at a 3 p.m. service. The Bethel AME Church members will be guests.

The community choir of Jackson County will sing

Dinner will be served from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Women’s Day celebration set

Hoschton Baptist Church will host missionaries from during September.

On Sunday morning, Sept. 22, the church will welcome a family serving with the Christian flight ministry and another missionary serving in Turkey.

During the evening service, the church will have a missionary speaking who is serving in the United Kingdom.

Each Wednesday at 7 p.m., Hoschton Baptist hosts a kid’s club for ages 3-11.

Peoples will sell chicken plates

Peoples Baptist Church will sell chicken plates Saturday, Oct. 5 for $8. Proceeds will go to help church programs.

Pickups will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 5.

A half-chicken, bread, slaw, chips, drink and dessert will be included.

Hoschton UMC plans homecoming Oct. 6

Hoschton United Methodist Church will host homecoming Oct. 6. The speaker will be retired minister, the Rev. David Bowen. Lunch will follow the 11 a.m. service.

A book signing will be held in the fellowship hall during the American Street Rodders fall car show at 9 a.m.Saturday, Oct. 19. One of the authors is Hoschton UMC’s Julie Clarke.

Hoschton UMC also plans a chicken stew/chili event Dec. 7. More information will be available soon.

The church also will have its fall clean-up day Sept. 28 (rain date is Oct. 5).
