Commerce FUMC plans Bible study

The Commerce First United Methodist Church will host its on-going men’s fellowship and Bible study group from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, in the church office conference room (16 Cherry Street, Commerce).

The group will discuss the video teaching of pastor and biblical historian Ray Vander Laan.

Northeast Church plans its final moving sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 6-7.

Hoschton Baptist plans men’s breakfast

Hoschton Baptist Church’s men’s ministry plans a prayer breakfast at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7.

In other church news, Hoschton Baptist will host missionaries from across the world throughout September.

On Sunday morning, Sept. 8, the guest will be a family serving in Nepal, and Sunday night, Sept. 8, the church will host a missionary family from China.

On Monday, Sept. 9, the Ladies Faith and Fellowship will have a luncheon and discuss community projects for the month.

Antioch United Methodist Church will celebrate 220 years with homecoming Sunday, Sept. 8, during morning worship.

to host concert

Beyond Words Baptist Church will hold a concert at 5 p.m. Saturday in memory of Deanna Davenport.

The doors will open at 4 p.m.

Galilee to host area church gathering

Galilee Christian Church will host “Ekklesia,” a gathering of Northeast Georgia Christian Churches, at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8.

More than 1,000 people will be on the church campus for a worship service, guest speaker and separate gatherings for teens and children.

A nursery also will be provided provided.

The event is free. It will include a worship band and choir and time with the Galilee Church. Music will be a blend of modern and traditional.

New mass set

for St. Catherine

St. Catherine Laboure Church has a new Mass schedule. Mass will be celebrated at 12:10 p.m. each day.

A mass in Spanish will be held at 8 a.m. Sundays and at 10 a.m. in English. The vigil Mass remains at 4 p.m. Saturday.

A local church recently donated to the food pantry at Braselton Church of God of Prophecy.

Pastor Danny Peek and food pantry staff recently thanked the members of New Liberty United Methodist Church who participated.

Warren Chapel plans chicken que

Warren Chapel United Methodist Church will have a chicken que Friday and Saturday, Sept. 6-7 to raise money for the women’s day program.

The sale will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day and chicken or pork plates will be $8 each.

Brunswick stew will be $6 per pint or $12 a quart. Each dinner comes with two sides, bread and dessert.
