The Tony and Ann Ianuario Bluegrass Festival is held each year during Art in the Park to honor the Jefferson couple who were tragically killed in a traffic accident. The musicians are honored each year with the festival where local bands entertain at the amphitheater at Hurricane Shoals. Students from local schools write essays about music and why they would like to learn to play an instrument to be entered into a competition to win an instrument during the festival. “The highlight of the festival is being able to give the gift of music to our youth, thanks to our awesome sponsors,” states Donna Garrison. Garrison congratulates all of this year's winners and each student who entered the contest along with the teachers and parents who encouraged them to write their essay.
