A tribute was given to all men and women that died in America’s wars by the American Legion Post 56 Honor Guard and Rifle Team on Memorial Day. The ceremony took place on the morning of May 25, 2020, at the War Memorial Monument located on the grounds of the Old Historic Courthouses in Jefferson. The monument has the engraved names of 123 men and women from Jackson County that died in America’s wars from WW I to present. The ceremony this year was a short remembrance ceremony due to the COVID 19 crisis. The members of the color guard and rifle team are members of Post 56 and lead Color Guard Commander Steve Lineberry.
