The Jackson County Water and Sewerage Authority approved two preliminary applications for the City of Pendergrass and a logistics center at its Jan. 12 meeting.
In relation to its Town Square development in downtown (Old Gainesville Hwy. and Glen Gee Rd.), the City of Pendergrass plans to serve its city hall and three commercial lots with water and sewer.
Conditions for service include construction, testing and approval of the sewer line at the Town Square at Glenn Abby Town Homes; railroad permit approval; adoption of the utility corridor detail; the JCWSA’s signature on all city plats before any subdivision of parcels; and the confirmation of water availability prior to the issuance of any building permits.
The authority also approved a preliminary application for WP Logistics Center, a warehouse complex planned near the intersection of Holly Springs Rd. and Wayne Poultry Rd.
HREG Acquisitions, LLC, looks to develop a facility consisting of three buildings that total approximately 1.29 million sq. ft. Water and sewer will be served by a private lift station, private force main and gravity sewer.
Conditions for service include the property remaining as one parcel with no subdividing or multiple owners allowed.
OTHER BUSINESS
In other business Jan. 12, the authority:
- terminated the local industrial pretreatment program and adopted a sewer use policy. The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) will be the control authority for the administration and enforcement of pretreatment standards for industrial users of the publicly owned treatment works moving forward. The sewer use policy is more streamlined and refers back to existing standards.
- elected the following officers for 2023: Dylan Wilbanks, chairman; Christopher Nichols, vice chair; Judy Smith, treasurer; and Karen Johnson, secretary.
