A Jefferson Police officer is on unpaid administrative leave pending an investigation into charges of family violence. JPD officer Sgt. Darren Mace was charged by the Rabun County Sheriff's Office arising from allegations of simple assault family violence and hindering a 911 call. Mace turned himself into the JPD office on Thursday afternoon, served the warrants from Raburn County and then transported to the RCSO for booking, according to a news release from JPD Chief Joe Wirthman.
