Memorial grows outside JCSO

The patrol car of fallen Jackson County Sheriff's Office deputy Lena Nicole Marshall sits outside the JCSO office. Balloons, flowers, cards and a large German Shepherd stuffed animal have been laid around the patrol car as a memorial to Marshall, who died in the line of duty. Marshall was shot during a domestic call on Friday, Nov. 5, and died on Monday, Nov. 8. Funeral services are planned Monday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m. at Free Chapel in Braselton. The JCSO will lead a processional from the JCSO office to Free Chapel beginning at noon on Monday, 15. The North Carolina Caisson Unit will bring Marshall from Memorial Park Funeral Home to Free Chapel by horse-drawn carriage.
