Youngsters will have plenty of opportunities to get candy Friday as trick or treating events are planned in Jefferson, Commerce and at Banks Crossing.
The City of Jefferson and Main Street Jefferson will host its annual Jefferson Halloween Walk on Friday, Oct. 30, from 4-6 p.m. in downtown Jefferson. The event is for children ages 12 and younger. Costumes are encouraged. The event will include face painting, hayrides and trick or treating.
Parking is available at the Jefferson Civic Center and the Historic Jackson County Courthouse.
Tanger Outlets will host a kids Halloween party Friday night from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The event will feature lots of fun activities for the children including a costume contest, scavenger hunt, caramel apple station, pick-a-pop station, punch in a cauldron, decorate your own Halloween cookie station and more. The first 750 children 12 and under will receive a free goody bag with candy and other surprises.
Commerce will hold its annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat on Friday, Oct. 30, from 4 to 6 p.m.
The event is for children 12 and younger, and participants are encouraged to wear costumes.
The event will include a “Monster Mash” party and a costume contest in Spencer Park beginning at 5 p.m., but the big draw is that local businesses will give out candy and other treats throughout the downtown.
