Palliative Care, Hospice Manager

The manager of St. Mary’s Health Care System’s Hospice and Palliative Care program describes the difference between the two types of patient care to Rotarians. RN Petti-Jeanne Sheldon, third from left, said last week most people and many doctors are not aware of the palliative care program, which is offered by St. Mary’s and other area medical facilities. The Jefferson resident was the guest of Rotarian Dr. Patrick Robinson, left. She was accompanied by Stacey Summers, second from left, the program’s coordinator. Club President Jon Howell, right, welcomed both and said the children’s book, “Finding Kindness,” will be donated to the Jefferson Public Library in RN Sheldon’s honor. The service club meets at lunch each Tuesday at the American Legion Post 56 in Jefferson.
