‘Lila’ is shelter’s Dog of the Week

Lilah, a 4-yearold spayed female pit bulldog mix, is this week’s Dog of the Week at the Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter (MOAS). “Lilah came to us from animal control and has been at MOAS for eight long months,” shelter officials said. “She is incredibly smart, food driven, and easily trained. She knows sit, stay, lay down, and is learning to roll over. She is a vibrant spirit but can also be stubborn and is looking for a home where she can get all of her energy out and be challenged mentally. This is Lilah's second time as pet of the week because she is our longest resident. She first entered the shelter in early September. A few months later, she found an awesome foster mom that took great care of her. Lilah came back to the shelter in April because she wasn't getting along with the neighbor's dog. We love Lilah and hope that the percentage night this Thursday (6-8 p.m.) at Tabasco's Mexican Grill in Danielsville will help raise funds for her to find a rescue. Or better yet, maybe we can get her a forever home this week. The only reason Lilah is still here is because she doesn't get along with other dogs well. She just needs to find the right family for her.” Lilah’s adoption fee includes her spay, deworming, vaccines, a negative heartworm test and a microchip. Call the shelter at 706-795-2868 to make an appointment to meet Lilah.
