•Gordon’s Chapel UMC, Nowhere Road, Hull, will hold their homecoming service Sunday, Aug. 11 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Brian Clark, District Superintendent of the UMC, delivering the homecoming message. A covered-dish meal served at the Sanford Community Center following the service, church officials said. Revival services will be held beginning Sunday evening, Aug. 11, through Wednesday, Aug. 14, with services held at 7 p.m. each night.

•Gordon’s Chapel UMC, Hull, will hold its fifth-annual Gordon’s Chapel UMC Golf Tournament, sponsored by the Third Class Sunday School, Saturday, Aug. 10, at Double Oaks Golf Club, 3100 Ila Road, Commerce. •Colbert United Methodist Church has changed its monthly food bank distribution time to the third Thursday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon. •The Madison County Ministerial Association’s regular meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 9 a.m. at the Ila Restaurant in Ila. •Gordon's Chapel UMC, Hull, will hold its monthly food giveaway and clothes closet opening on the following dates in 2019 from 9 to 10 a.m.: Aug. 16, Sept 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 20. “These food and clothes giveaways are held for those who are in need of food and clothing for their immediate family,” church officials said. Please note that all food and clothes distributions are on a first come, first serve basis. The clothing giveaways are fully funded by Gordon's Chapel UMC and the church works in coordination with the NEGA Food Bank for food giveaways. The food bank is held at the Sanford Community Center, 6495 Nowhere Road, Hull and the clothes closet is held in the green building next to the community center.
