MCREA holds first meeting of ‘19-’20

The Madison County Retired Educators Association (MCREA) held its first meeting of year 2019-20 Sept. 10 at Ila Restaurant. The meeting was called to order by co-presidents Linda Freeman and Betty Pallas (pictured). This is the first time in MCREA history that the group has had co-presidents. The MCREA welcomed two new members – Sherry Shepherd and Linda Green. The program was given by Doug Holt of AMBA (Association Member Benefits Advisors). GREA (Georgia Retired Educators Association) has partnered with AMBA to make member-only benefits available. There are a number of insurance programs, discounts on hotels, restaurants, computers and other items available through AMBA. The next meeting will be held Oct. 8 at Ila Restaurant at 11 a.m. “If you receive a Georgia TRS check, we invite you to be a member of our association,” organizers said.
