Mentors thanked for giving their time

The Jones Chapel Mentor Ministry, Jackson Electric Membership Corporation, and the Madison County Mentor Program sponsored a “Mentor Share Session” Oct. 24. The event offered the close to 250 current mentors the opportunity to attend to share experiences, concerns and suggestions as they learned from each other. Mentor Program Director Shirley Aaron stated in the event program, “We thank you for being here to allow us to show our appreciation for the selfless giving of your time this term to bless the life of your student mentee.” Professional guidance was given by Teddi Shriner, a school counselor who works with mentors at Madison County Middle School. There to answer questions about the other school levels were Tara Thomas, who was the school counselor at Hull-Sanford Elementary School for many years, and Renee McCannon, who is the graduation coach for students at the middle school and Madison County High School. Participants enjoyed food, fellowship and door prizes. Pictured (L-R) are Renee McCannon, Tara Thomas and Teddi Shriner. For information about mentoring, contact Aaron at or 706-338-3689.
