MOAS 'Pets of the Week'

Isabella is this week featured Cat of the Week at the Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter (MOAS). Isabella is a domestic short hair and is 2 years old. Her adoption fee is $65 without microchip and $75 with a microchip. This fee includes her spay, de-worming and vaccines. “This beautiful chunky lady came in with her sister, Boo Bear, when her owner passed away and family couldn't keep her,” shelter officials said. “Her sister has gone to rescue, so Isabella is left here alone. She has been at the shelter for four months and is ready to have her own family. Isabella is a chunky, lazy kitty who is happy to lounge around your house. She is already spayed and ready to go home now.” Call the shelter at 706-795-2868 to set up a meet and greet.

Gurley is the Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter’s (MOAS) featured Dog of the Week. She is a 4.5-year-old pit bull terrier who has been at the shelter for 10 weeks. She came in heartworm positive and will need a home with no cats. “Gurley is the sweetest and most lovable ‘pittie’ out there,” shelter officials said. “And those ears? Instant love, right? It is hard to believe that she was found on the side of the road in a duffle bag. But she is strong, resilient and happy, despite everything she has gone through and has so much love to give. She is learning her manners but already knows how to ‘sit’ on command and has been spayed.” Officials added that since Gurley is heartworm positive, they would love to find a foster home or foster-to-adopt home while she goes through her heartworm treatment (paid for by MOAS) and she would need to be introduced to other dogs in the home, “as she can be a bit picky about who she gets along with.” Her adoption fee is $100 and includes, in addition to her spay, includes all vaccines, de-worming and microchip.
