Rotary builds ramp for Sears

The Rotary Club of Madison County completed a handicap ramp Jan. 16 for Ida Sears who lives on Duncan Swindle Road, the club’s 766th handicapped ramp. She is 73 years old and has stage four cancer in her lungs, breast and has suffered a broken leg. She has lived in Madison County for over 32 years. She just got out of the hospital and is confined to her bed. She badly needed the ramp to get in and out of her house to get to the doctor, and if necessary to return to the hospital. Workers on the ramp included Wade Scarboro, Johnny Minish, Mitchell Hill, Walton Hill, Artry Bishop, Johnny Westmoreland, David McGinnis, Alan Phillips, Ed Brown, Roy Gandy, Bruce Gandy and Jerry Coutant.
