Rotary Club assists Walter Brown with a ramp

The Madison County Rotary Club ramp crew constructed a handicap ramp for Walter Brown on Cheek Pulliam Road July 15, the club’s 826th ramp. Walter, and his wife, Brenda, both can use help getting in and out of their house. Walter is recovering from serious surgery and Brenda has chronic knee problems. Both Brenda and Walter worked for over 20 years at Johnson and Johnson in Royston. Their two children, Daryl and Christy, are close by and provide support and loving care. The family attends the Hannah’s Creek Baptist Church. “The Brown family made a greatly appreciated donation to help defray the cost for materials for the 12-foot handicap ramp with the hope they can help another person with mobility issues receive help,” said Rotary leaders. Walter joined the volunteers and Rotarians who volunteered the labor for the Brown ramp in a photo. Those building the ramp were Don Sullinger, Bruce Gandy, David McGinnis, Ed Brown, Mitchell Hill, Johnny Westmoreland, Johnny Minish, Conolus Scott, Wade Scarboro, Artry Bishop and Alan Phillips.
