Rotary Club constructs ramp for Johnson

The ramp crew of the Madison County Rotary Club constructed its 791st handicap ramp for Horace Lee Johnson on McCannon Morris Road in Madison County Thursday, Oct. 1. Johnson was born in Clarke County, but he considers himself a happy life-long resident of Madison County. He had a long and varied work history, which included working on laying pipeline to installing roofing. Johnson, with the support of Rosetta Wise, his long-time partner, is battling heart disease, has had several emergency cardi0-versions, requires oxygen and has to use a walker. Johnson attends the New Beginning Worship Center in Commerce. The Rotarians and volunteers on the ramp crew included Walton Hill, Ed Brown, Bruce Gandy, James Adams, David Bishop, Johnny Westmoreland, Rodney Chandler, Johnny Minish and Harry Rice, who has rejoined the crew after recovery from a shoulder injury.
