Rotary constructs ramp for Carithers family

The ramp crew of the Madison County Rotary Club constructed the 810th handicap ramp for Hope Carithers on Nowhere Road in Hull Tuesday, March 23. Hope and her husband, Scott, are life-long residents of Madison County and have raised a large family with three grown children and are looking in their large hearts to adopt three more children aged 9, 11 and 5. The ramp is for their son, Codie, aged 24 who suffered an accident as a young child that left him a quadriplegic and confined to a wheelchair. However, through the support of a caring family, Codie is a proud graduate of Madison County High School and was active in the Special Olympics for many years. The Rotarians and volunteers on the ramp crew consisted of Mitchell Hill, Ed Brown, Bruce Gandy, Johnny Minish, Wade Scarboro, Alan Phillips, Artry Bishop, Don Sullinger, David McGinnis and Harry Rice.
