Rotary constructs ramp for Kinley

Members of the Rotary Club of Madison County and volunteers constructed a 24-foot access ramp Sept. 8 for Douglas Kinley, and his wife, Cheryl Roberts, who live on Era Carey Road in Danielsville. It was the club’s 878th ramp. Douglas worked a full career in the tire industry, spending 34 years at Michelin in Anderson, finally working over 20 years with General Tire. Cheryl, worked many years at Flowers and Balloons, and finally, at Lanier Gardens Talmadge Terrace. “Unfortunately, Douglas recently broke both of his ankles at the same time, and is undergoing a lengthy recovery,” said Rotary leaders. The family attends Ila Baptist Church. The Rotarians and volunteers who worked on the ramp included Johnny Minish, Ed Brown, Bruce Gandy, Alan Phillips, Artry Bishop, John Taylor, Wade Scarboro, Mitchell Hill, John Taylor, Walton Hill and Don Sullinger.
