Rotary constructs ramp for Seagraves

The Madison County Rotary Club ramp crew constructed its 820th handicap ramp for Carol Seagraves on Sam Grove Road in Danielsville Tuesday, June 1. Carol and her late husband, Paul, raised five brothers and sisters, Elaine (Cricket), Paula, Juston, Tony and Sammy. Paul owned his own carpet business and Carol worked many years at the Blue Bell Textile Company in Commerce. She now works as a substitute teacher and bus driver in Jackson County. Carol is a double amputee but is not a woman to be limited by being wheelchair bound. She did, however, have considerable trouble getting her wheelchair up her front step and threshold. A couple of the Rotarians on the crew, Ed Brown and Bruce Gandy, spent a few hours custom-crafting two threshold ramps and installing them. Carol is a member of the Nicholson Baptist Church.
