50% of Madison Co. voters have made their decisions

Fifty percent of Madison County's 20,722 registered voters have already cast their ballots, either by early voting in the county elections office or by absentee ballot.

Madison County Board of Elections and Registration Chair Tracy Dean provided a breakdown Saturday of votes by precinct at the close of early voting Friday. Dean said only 484 absentee ballots have yet to be submitted, while 2,779 have been received.

"We will get these over the next few days or the voter will show up on election day to vote in person and we will cancel them," said Dean.

There will be no early voting Monday, and polls will be open at Madison County precincts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
