A Winterville man was sentenced recently in Madison County Superior Court to eight years confinement for statutory rape. Joshua Scott Kell, 22, no address available, was also sentenced to 12 years probation and fined $6,300. Prosecutors chose not to seek a conviction on a charge of child molestation at this time.

Other actions filed recently in the office of Superior Court of Madison County include:

•Michael Jason Martin, 22, 250 Beecher Hill, Danielsville, was sentenced to one year probation and was fined $320 for criminal trespass (reduced from loitering or prowling). A charge of failure to appear was dismissed. Prosecutors chose not to seek a conviction on a charge of possession of tools for the commission of a crime at this time.

•Cameo Lorriese Wilbanks, 28, 500 Catfish Lane, Demorest, was sentenced to one year probation and was fined $135 for theft by deception. Prosecutors chose not to seek a conviction on a charge of theft by taking.

•Ernest Brian Greene, 34, 2730 John Stowe Road, Monroe, was sentenced to one year probation for possession of drug-related objects (reduced from possession of tools for the commission of a crime), driving without a license and tire requirements. He was also fined $455.

•Zachary Uriah Lord, 35, 126 Dusty Creek Lane, Homer, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $387 for simple battery.

•Raymond Roy Hunt Jr., 48, 459 Vincent Drive, Athens, was sentenced to one year probation for criminal trespass (reduced from burglary), two counts of obstruction of officers, obedience to traffic control device, weaving over roadway, failure to stop for stop sign and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer. He was also fined $805.

•Donyelle Rae Childers, 31, 110 East Piedmont Park, Hull, was sentenced to one year probation, 40 hours of community service and fined $1,058 for DUI drugs. Childers was also sentenced to one year probation for possession of drug-related objects/equipment and failure to yield when entering or crossing a roadway. Prosecutors chose not to seek convictions on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

•Kenneth James Lee, 52, 54 West Kellogg Drive, Colbert, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $387 for battery (reduced from aggravated assault).

•Billy Clyde Bentley, 31, 436 Piedmont Road, Hull, was sentenced to 10 years probation and fined $725 for aggravated assault (reduced from aggravated battery).

•Raelene Brown, 29, 151 Sherwood Circle, Danielsville, was sentenced to five years probation, 100 hours of community service and was fined $100 for obstruction of officers. He was also sentenced to one year probation on four counts of obstruction of officers.

•Denise Ann Oliver, 48, 7960 Hwy. 72 W., Lot 9, Colbert, was sentenced to two years probation and was fined $100 for financial transaction card fraud.

•Joshua Adam Bryant, 25, 5577 Wapakonata Trail, Oxford, was sentenced to five years probation and fined $725 for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

•Rachel Lou Epps, 31, 1857 Pine Valley Farm Road, Comer, was sentenced to five years probation for burglary in the second degree and giving false information of officers. She was also fined $725. Prosecutors chose not to seek a conviction on a charge of burglary in the second degree at this time.

•Amanda Adams Hernandez, 29, 2324 Hwy. 29 North, Danielsville, was sentenced to three years probation and fined $420 for possession of methamphetamine. A charge of no proof of insurance was dismissed.

•Eduardo Ramirez, 19, 68 Madison Blvd., Colbert, was sentenced to five years probation and fined $1,850 for possession, manufacture or distribution of marijuana.

•Brian Lonzo Samples, no age or address available, was sentenced to five years confinement for theft by taking.

•Shannon Todd Smith, 38, 121 South 3rd Street, Colbert, was sentenced to three years probation and fined $100 for possession of methamphetamine. He was also sentenced to two years confinement, one year probation and fined $100 on another charge of possession of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to three years probation on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Prosecutors chose not to seek convictions on two other charges of possession of a controlled substance at this time.

•Kristy Lynn Daniel, 45, 10 Holmes Court, Athens, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $387 for reckless conduct. A charge of cruelty to children in the second degree was dismissed.

•Rocco Michael Crapis, 26, 1137 Penny Lane, Marietta, was sentenced to one year probation, one day confinement, 40 hours of community service and fined $1,051 for DUI alcohol. Prosecutors chose not to seek convictions at this time on a charge of DUI (per se) and a headlight violation.

•Amanda Joyce McCoy, 37, 105 Michele Place, Athens, was sentenced to three years probation and fined $185 for financial transaction card fraud. Prosecutors chose not to seek convictions at this time on another charge of financial transaction card fraud, financial transaction card theft and theft by taking.

•Thomas Jason Melton, 44, 171 Peachtree Street, Colbert, was sentenced to five years probation on five counts of financial transaction card fraud and one count of financial transaction card theft. He was sentenced to one year probation for obstruction of officers and fined a total of $725.

•Adam Lee Martin, no age available, 45 Wolf Creek Trail, Bowersville, was sentenced to five years confinement, five years probation, 20 hours of community service and fined $100 for felony theft by shoplifting.
