A woman on South 4th Street in Colbert reported recently that her son came home from school and found that their home had been broken into. The front door had been kicked in and more than $10,000 in items were reportedly taken, including electronics, jewelry, firearms, a motorcycle and lawnmower under the carport and Christmas gifts under the tree.

In another incident, an assistant manager at Ingles in Hull reported that a male subject shoplifted four 36-pack cans of Bud Light beer, two at a time on two separate visits. The man allegedly left in a Chrysler Concorde of unknown color. A copy of the store’s surveillance video was obtained as evidence.

Other incidents on file at the sheriff’s office included:

•A black 1994 Chevrolet Z71 four-wheel drive truck with red pinstripes was reportedly stolen from a residence on McGinnis Chandler Road.

•Forgery in the first degree was reported on Stoneridge Drive in Colbert.

•Theft by taking was reported on Mimosa Drive in Colbert.

•Simple assault was reported on Hwy. 29 South in Hull.

•Burglary was reported on Alberta Drive.

•Fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer was reported on Hwy. 98 at Fortson Compton Road.

•Forgery in the first degree was reported on Hwy. 29 South.

•Criminal trespass was reported on Stapler Road.

•Burglary was reported on Hwy. 174.

•Theft by shoplifting was reported on Hwy. 106 South.

•Burglary was reported on Spratlin Mill Road.

•A vehicle was reportedly broken into on Sam Groves Street in Danielsville.

•Driving while license suspended was reported on Hwy. 29 at the Clarke County line.

•Burglary was reported on Drake Woods Road.

•No proof of insurance was reported on Norwood Road at Belhaven Lane.

•Burglary was reported on Spratlin Mill Road.

•Battery FVA was reported on Hidden Falls Drive in Hull.
