A Colbert man was arrested last week after he was spotted by homeowners on Strickland Circle acting erratically in the front yard.

Justin Lee Neese, 43, was charged with criminal trespass and a probation violation by Deputy Gabe Dalton.

On Tuesday, Sept. 10, Dalton was dispatched to the home after the call by the homeowners, who said they did not know who the person in their yard was.

When Dalton arrived, he found the man (Neese) wearing only blue jeans and shoes, sitting at the base of a tree about 30 feet away from the house. He was talking to himself.

Neese immediately admitted to Dalton that he had just been released from the county jail. He was observed to appear to be under the influence of some type of stimulant. He could not provide a reason for being at the home and said he did not know who lived there. He said he was just resting. Neese was determined to be on felony probation and a probation officer stated that state probation officers had just been to a Stone Ridge Drive home to make contact with him but that Neese and another man fled out the back door.

He was arrested and placed in the patrol car. The homeowners told Dalton that they were outside when they saw Neese on their property and that he seemed not to notice them. They were instructed to call law enforcement if they found anything missing or if they found any drugs or drug paraphernalia on their property. Neese reportedly told state probation officers later that he had been consuming methamphetamine.
