A Colbert man was sentenced recently in Madison County Superior Court to 20 years in prison for sex crimes. James Melvin Parsons, 33, 74 Buddy Moore Road, was sentenced to 20 years confinement for aggravated assault with intent to rape (reduced from rape) and 20 years confinement for child molestation (reduced from statutory rape). He was also sentenced to two years confinement for possession of methamphetamine. Charges of incest, theft by taking and two counts of obstruction of officers were disposed of through nolle prosequi, meaning the charges won’t be prosecuted now but could be later.

Other actions filed recently in the office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Madison County include:

•Anthony Blake Seagraves, 18, 221 Stoy Smith Road, Hull, was sentenced to one year probation for two counts of battery and one count of furnishing, purchasing or possessing alcohol under the legal age. He was also fined $1,011.

•Jacob Daniel Conner, 20, 3318 Hwy. 29 South, Colbert, was sentenced to one year probation for two counts of battery, furnishing, purchasing or possessing alcohol under legal age and possession of marijuana — less than an ounce. He was also fined $1,350.

•Erich Flesch, 37, 344 Hickory Hills Road, Danielsville, was sentenced to one year probation and 240 hours of community service for obstruction of officers and one year of probation for DUI alcohol. He was also fined $1,591. Charges of fleeing or attempting to elude police officers, driving while license suspended or revoked, operating vehicle without a valid tag, open container violation, improper U-turn, failure to stop at a stop sign and weaving over roadway were disposed of through nolle prosequi, meaning the charge won’t be prosecuted but could be at a later date.

•Wilber Adonay Lopez, no age available, 102 Massey Lane, Athens, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $465 for loitering or prowling. A charge of false identification document was disposed of through nolle prosequi.

•Andrea Bernadette McDowell, 23, 3284 Hwy. 72, Colbert, was sentenced to one year probation and was fined $487 for reckless driving. Charges of too fast for conditions and obstruction of officers were disposed of through nolle prosequi.

•Nicholas Lee Argo, 27, 85 Sunny Brook Ct., Hartwell, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $605 for possession of marijuana — less than an ounce (reduced from possession, manufacture or distribution of marijuana.

•George Brandon West, 23, 455 Planter Gunnell Road, Hull, was sentenced to one year probation for criminal trespass and battery and was fined $675. A charge of failure to appear was dismissed.

•Misty Dawn Maxwell, 33, 2243 Harmony Road, Elberton, was sentenced to one year probation for driving while license suspended, failing to obey a traffic control device and no proof of insurance. She was also fined $440.

•Edward Kim Sargent, 49, 1120 McGinnis Chandler Road, Commerce, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $455 for simple assault (reduced from terroristic threats and acts).

•Brandon Anthony Tarbush, 23, 163 Settle Street, Winder, was sentenced to one year probation for simple battery and two counts of obstruction of officers. He was also fined $742. A charge of failure to appear was dismissed.

•Justin Bradley Pirkle, 29, 4646 Hwy. 98, Danielsville, was sentenced to three years probation for possession of methamphetamine (reduced from possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute), one year probation for theft by taking and possession of marijuana — less than an ounce. He was also fined $1,362. Charges of criminal trespass, going inside guardlines with weapons, liquor or drugs and sales, distribution and possession of dangerous drugs in illegal conditions were disposed of through nolle prosequi.

•Chase Logan Mattox, 18, 1574 Duffell Martin Road, Comer, was sentenced to three years probation and fined $387 for criminal attempt to commit a felony.

•Robert E. Plyler II, 26, 2225 Arnold Park Drive, Comer, was sentenced to three years probation for one count of deposit account fraud and two years probation for two counts of deposit account fraud. He was also fined $1,737.

•Kellie K. Gorman, 31, 25 Stark Street Lot 3, Commerce, was sentenced to three years probation and was fined $975 for possession of methamphetamine.

•Steven Michael Carter, 37, 7949 Hwy. 72 East, Carlton, was sentenced to two years probation and $522 for identity fraud.

•Robert Jason Bartles, 42, 751 Athens Hwy., Lot 8B, Loganville, was sentenced to three years probation and was fined $975 for possession of methamphetamine.

•Brandon David Shields, 33, 1957 Colbert Danielsville Road, Danielsville, was sentenced to three years probation and was fined $975 for possession of methamphetamine. A charge of driving while license suspended or revoked was disposed of through nolle prosequi.

•Brian Cody Pierce, 19, 1062 Harbin Road, Dacula, was sentenced to five years probation and 100 hours of community service for interference with government property and criminal damage to property in the second degree. He was sentenced to one year probation and 25 hours of community service for theft by taking. He was also fined $100.

•Shannon Nelson, 39, 304 Watson Mill Road, Comer, was sentenced to three years probation and fined a total of $3,457 for four counts of possession of a controlled substance.

•Christian Chase Finley, 19, 2246 Shoal Creek, Colbert, was sentenced to one year probation, 24 hours confinement, 40 hours of community service and was fined $665 for DUI drugs. Charges of failure to maintain lane, no brake lights or working turn signals, driving without license, possession of marijuana — less than an ounce and going inside guard lines with a weapon, liquor or drugs were disposed of through nolle prosequi. Finley was sentenced to three years probation and was fined $975 for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. A charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute was disposed of through nolle prosequi.

•Bailey Graham, 20, 167 Timberidge Drive, Athens, was sentenced to one year probation and was fined $5 80 for possession of marijuana — less than an ounce.

•Jason Brian Casey, 33, 238 Pope Miller Road, Hull, was sentenced to one year probation and was fined $405 for obstruction of officers. A charge of disorderly conduct was disposed of through nolle prosequi.

•Shannon Allen King, 23, 237 Eades Road, Carlton, was sentenced to one year probation and was fined a total of $809 for two counts of forgery in the fourth degree.

•Hank Chevi Card, 26, 105 Pine Drive, Union Point, was sentenced to one year probation, 40 hours community service and was fined $670 for DUI drugs. A charge of failure to maintain lane was disposed of through nolle prosequi.

•Arickey Perez Norman, no age available, 165 Vine Circle Apt. C, Athens, was sentenced to five years probation and was fined $1,350 for burglary in the second degree. Norman was sentenced to 10 years probation and was fined $625 for theft by taking. A charge of failure to appear was dismissed. Five counts of receipt, possession or transfer of a firearm by a convicted felon were disposed of through nolle prosequi.

•Tommi Jean Quinlan, 42, 190 Highland Park Drive, Athens, was sentenced to 10 years probation and was fined $725 for aggravated assault. A charge of criminal trespass was disposed of through nolle prosequi.

•Randy Dean McLaughlin Jr., no age or address available, was sentenced to five years confinement for perjury.

•David Shane Harrelson, 44, 1130 Glenn Lane, Bishop, was sentenced to 25 years confinement for burglary in the first degree.

•Larry Michael Smith, 39, 180 Scogin Road, Colbert, was sentenced to four years confinement, 16 years probation and was fined $100 for aggravated assault.

•Kathy Canada Craig, 54, Danielsville, was sentenced to three years probation for financial transaction card theft and two years probation for three counts of financial transaction card fraud. She was also fined $657.

•Derek Lamar Bell, 33, 196 Watson Mill Road, Comer, was sentenced to three years probation and was fined $512 for possession of methamphetamine. Bell was also sentenced to one year probation for driving while license suspended or revoked, giving false information to law officers and speeding. He was also fined $867. A charge of safety belt violations was disposed of through nolle prosequi.

•Robert Jeremy Russell, 32, 138 Pine View Drive, Leesburg, was sentenced to three years probation for possession of methamphetamine, one year probation and one day confinement for driving under the influence of multiple substances, five years probation for possession of a firearm or knife during a crime or crime attempt and five years probation for receipt, possession or transfer or a firearm by a convicted felon. Russell was fined a total of $1,860. Charges of weaving over a roadway, driving while license suspended or revoked, tail lights, failure to use correct signal, safety belt violations, possession and carrying a concealed weapon without a license and giving false information to law officers.
