Colbert, Danielsville elementary schools recognized at BOE meeting

Colbert and Danielsville elementary schools were designated Title 1 Distinguished Schools by the state and were recognized for this achievement by the board of education at its January meeting. The designation means that they were in the top five percent of highest performing schools in the state. Only nine schools in the Northeast Georgia district received this designation. Pictured are (from Colbert Elementary) Kelly Kincaid, Maggie Cowne, Principal Angela McCarty, Jennifer Gibbons and Tracey Evans, Principal Angie Waggoner (Danielsville Elementary) and Superintendent Michael Williams. Colbert Elementary was also named by the Governor's Office of Student Achievement as a 2019 Silver Award Winner for Greatest Gains.
