MCHS FFA members win region

Four Madison County FFA members won their respective proficiency categories at the region level, earning a trip to state. Junior Brooke Fleming is the north region winner in swine production, seniors Nick Moss and Chase West are state finalists in agricultural mechanics design and fabrication and goat production respectively, and MCHS graduate Cory Yarbrough will represent the north region in diversified livestock production. Each student will interview with a panel of judges to discuss their work experiences and will submit a record of skills, time, and earnings to be scored. “We are proud of their hard work,” teachers said. West was named the North Region Star Farmer and will compete against two other finalists for the title of State Star Farmer at the State FFA Convention in April. West was chosen from among this year's State FFA Degree recipients who have developed outstanding supervised agricultural experiences in production agriculture.
