Meats Evaluation team takes fourth in state

The Madison County High School FFA meats evaluation team of Chase West, Mason Wall, Demyus Watts and Garrett Dowell placed fourth in the state meats evaluation career development event (CDE) held at the University of Georgia Meat Science Lab Nov. 16. The team advanced to the state round of 12 after clinching the area title in September. During the state events, students participated in meat cut identification, quality and yield grading of carcasses, meat formulation exercise, written exam and placing classes.
