Mentor program hosts reception for REACH scholars

Four REACH Scholars were honored Tuesday, Oct.8, at a reception hosted by the Madison County Mentor Program. From eighth through twelfth grades, this sixth co-hort of REACH Scholars will be encouraged and led toward high school graduation by their REACH mentors. As part of the REACH program, all student scholars must have mentors. The first group of scholars graduated last school term and is “Realizing Education Achievement Can Happen” as they use their REACH grant funds toward college. Twenty-two Madison County students have now been chosen for this program. The students were given gifts from the Madison County Mentor Program to remind them to think toward their future graduations from middle school, high school, and college. Pictured (L-R) are Charlese Howard, whose mentor is Elaine Rodgers; Taylor Maxwell, whose mentor is Jill Fortson; Erika Hull, whose mentor is Quowanna Mattox; and Thaw Htoo, whose mentor is Matt Boggs.
