The Rotary Club of Madison County constructed its 759th ramp last week.

The latest ramp was for Josephine Gaddis, who now lives on Merry Lane in the Colbert area. She has wanted to move in with her son William Gaddis for some time, but could not until a handicap ramp was constructed to get her in and out of the home.

Members of the Rotary Club Club ramp crew along with several volunteers constructed a 16-foot ramp for her on Aug. 1, and she moved in just as soon as it was completed. Josephine is 69 and suffers from severe seizures, COPD, and degenerative disks. She recently fell trying to go up steps, and broke her hip, knee and femur. She was very happy to be moving in with her son.
