The Banks County Leopards Cross Country team celebrated Senior Night at the last home meet of the season.

Six boys, Adan Gonzalez, Harris Day, Angel Serrano, Gabe Espinoza, Chris Willis, Dylon Bonilla were honored in a pre meet ceremony along with a memorial to Daniel Tatum, a former Leopard Cross Country runner.

The boys’ team remained undefeated at home meets this season with wins against Franklin County, Commerce, Stephens County, Madison County, and Towns County at the Senior Night meet on Tuesday.

Both boys’ and girls’ teams took top honors at the meet and will compete in the region meet at Unicoi State Park on Thursday afternoon. The region meet will determine state berths for the 7-AAA teams.

The top 15 BCHS boy runners were: Jose Diaz at 17:34; Andrew Elliott 18:41, a personal best; Beau Rush 20:05; Avery Rylee 20:11; Adan Gonzalez 22:24; Thomas Entrekin 21:33; Nic Page 21:43; Saul Olandez 21:43 a personal best; Dylon Bonilla 22:09; Arvin Ajmani 22:55, a personal best; Harris Day 22:58; Gabe Espinoza 22:59, a season best; Dustin Trotter 23:05; Adam Dodd 23:35; and Luke Schaffer 23:58 a personal best.

The top 15 BCHS girl runners were: Makayla Hewell 20:58; Carli Broome 24:53; Hannah Brown 25:03; McKenzie Simpson 25:09; Maddie Knowles 25:33; Kaylee Whitfield 26:53; Cheyenne Campbell 27:33; Leia Rylee 27:38; Leslie Boyd 28:13; McKinley Bramlett 28:15; Hannah Baker 28:33; Savannah Crowe 28:37, a personal best; Hollie Wagoner 31:09; Grayson Boyd 31:09; and Scarlet Flynn 31:10.
