GOLF

Thursday, Feb. 27

•COMMERCE-JEFFERSON (BOYS): The match wasn’t complete at Double Oaks due to daylight. One group finished nine holes. The other groups weren’t able to.

•COMMERCE-JEFFERSON (GIRLS): The match wasn’t complete at Double Oaks due to daylight. The top girls’ group only finished eight holes with Cameron Ford sitting on 34, Abby Fitzpatrick 35 and Kristin Tash 39.

SOCCER

Wednesday, Feb. 26

•COMMERCE 5, LINCOLN CO. 2 (BOYS): The Tigers scored three goals in the first half and two in the second half to secure the win. Commerce got two goals from Josue Marcias, then one goal apiece from Yahir Navarro, Jhonny Valle and Eryck Diaz.

TENNIS

Thursday, Feb. 27

•COMMERCE 5, LINCOLN CO. 0 (BOYS): Garrett Roberson, Moses Mullis and Vinny Ricci all cruised to straight-set wins in the season opener. Roberson won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Mullis won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Ricci closed the match out with a 6-4, 6-2 win. The Tigers got forfeit wins at both doubles lines.

•COMMERCE 5, LINCOLN CO. 0 (GIRLS): The Commerce girls didn’t drop a set to Lincoln County to open the season. Kamden Cotton, Megan Suber and Bree Ligon — playing No. 1, 2 and 3 singles — won their matches 6-0, 6-0. Carson Hobbs and Anna Taylor won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, while Ragan Allen and Chloe Neisler won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

Friday (Feb. 28)

•HART CO. 3, COMMERCE 2 (BOYS): Commerce boys got wins by Daniel Nash at No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-4. Gaven Dawley and Hunter Nunn won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.

•HART CO. 5, COMMERCE 0 (GIRLS): Commerce girls were swept in every match.

TRACK AND FIELD

Thursday (Feb. 27)

•COMMERCE BOYS WIN OPENER AT ATHENS ACADEMY: The Tigers defeated Athens Academy 66-49 to open the 2020 season. JJ Morris finished first in two events — 800 meters and 1,600 meters. Brandon Martin won the 3,200 meters. The Commerce 4x400 meter relay teams finished first, second and third. Shannon Segars won the 100-meter dash and long jump. Daniel Wilson won the high jump, while Lambdin Hardy won the pole vault. Jackson Morris won the triple jump.

For the girls, Lauren Massey won the pole vault. Kylee Taylor won the long jump.
