East Jackson’s girls finished 10th out of 14 teams, while the boys placed finished 12th out of 17 teams in the Jefferson Invitational.

Lissett Miranda led the girls’ squad with a 38th-place finish and time of 22:21.94. Emily Parker also broke 23 minutes, taking 44th with a time of 22:43.44. Others placing for East Jackson were Lizzy Smith (61st, 23:27.99), Alayna Castaneda (64th, 23:31.35) and Kaitlyn Weaver (84th, 24:54.42).

For the boys, each of the Eagles’ top-five runners broke 19 minutes. Evan Gates led all Eagles with a 49th-place finish and time of 18:03.05. Isabel Guerra-Baca also ran a time in the low 18’s, finishing 55th with a time of 18:09.06. Rounding out the top five were Theron Walker (67th, 18:24.38), Noah Watts (73rd, 18:35.71) and Gabe Merk (85th, 18:47.43).
