East Jackson's Drew Cameron swims the butterfly at Saturday's (Dec. 5) Habersham Central Jingle Jam.

East Jackson was limited to just three high school swimmers at the Habersham Central Jingle Jam Saturday (Dec. 5) due to quarantine and injuries, but managed some high individual finishes.

Austin Ackerman placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke, setting a new school record. He took third in the boys’ 500-yard freestyle. Drew Cameron finished sixth in the boys’ 200-yard individual medley and 10th in the boys’ 100-yard breaststroke.

East Jackson finished 10th out of 13 boys’ teams.

At the middle-school level, East Jackson had only a combined five swimmers, but finished seventh in the middle school boys’ standings and eighth in the girls’ standings.

“I am very proud of them,” Eagle coach Whitney Wilson said. “They have been working hard at practice and consequently, each one of them had personal bests.”

Courtney Cameron was East Jackson’s top scorer with 46 points. She finished first in the girls’ 50-yard breaststroke, setting a new school record, and took third in the girls’ 100-yard individual medley.

Jack Davis led the East Jackson boys, finishing second in both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle, setting school records.
