East Jackson’s middle school team took third in the combined standings behind top-12 finishes from Jack Davis (first, boy’s 100-yard freestyle; third, boys’ 50-yard freestyle), Ben Nunnally (seventh, boys’ 50-yard freestyle; fourth, boys’ 50-yard backstroke); Jenna Conner (10th, girls’ 50-yard freestyle; sixth, girls’ 50-yard backstroke); Leila Huss (third, girls’ 50-yard freestyle; fifth, girls’ 100-yard freestyle) and Landon Meeler (12th, boys’ 50-yard freestyle; eighth, boys’ 50-yard backstroke).
“Everyone on our team scored points at this meet, which is a first because we have a very new team with several members who have little to no experience swimming competitively,” East Jackson coach Whitney Wilson said.
