Last season, Tyler Crow was the East Jackson wrestler who made it to sectionals.

But Crow's efforts, along with his teammates' efforts, was a step forward for the East Jackson wrestling program. This has head coach Andrew Gaddy excited for the 2019-20 season.

"I am very excited for this year," Gaddy said. "We have more kids in the program than we have had for the previous four years. We only lost one kid from last year to graduation and have added some new faces that can help us moving forward."

Along with Crow, Tyler Parr and Xander Engel return to help the Eagles' lineup. Some of the new faces include Ben Lampe and Noah Watts.

"Our expectations are we are going to continue to build on what we started last year," Gaddy said. "We are pushing to be tough, hard-nosed wrestlers that are going to get after it on the mat for six minutes. We are looking to have multiple sectional and state qualifiers this year and make some noise at state."

East Jackson's wrestling season begins Nov. 16 at Gainesville High School. The Eagles have nine events before Jan. 1, and 10 total before the Area Duals, which is Jan. 10, 2020.

The Eagles will only have three events between the state duals and area individual tournament.
