Jefferson’s Katherine Law established a new personal-best 5K time of 18:20.02 to place 15th at Saturday’s (Oct. 3) race at the Alexander/Asics Invitational.

Law, the top-ranked runner in girls' Class AAAA, has run three sub 19-minute times this year. 

The girls’ team placed 14th out of 32 squads in the girls’ championship race.

Caitlin Schroeder followed Law with a 57th-place finish and time of 19:18.36. Others adding to Jefferson’s team score were Kiley Powell (95th, 19:56.45), Olivia Kulniszewski (156th, 20:50.37) and Sydney Bowles (175th, 21:08.30).

Matthew Schroeder led the Jefferson boys, running a season-best 16:31.03 to finish 91st in the boys’ championship race. Three other Dragons broke 18 minutes: Levi Holliday (151st, 17:08.93), Carter Henslee (152nd, 17:09.72) and Cooper Gibson (197th, 17:40.04). Ben Davis (216th, 18:03.19) rounded out the scoring for Jefferson, which 28th out of 29 teams.
