YOUTH WRESTLERS EXCEL AT DIXIE NATIONALS

Jackson County’s youth wrestling club produced four placers and four All-Americans at the recent Dixie Nationals in Atlanta. Levi Kaufman won the 6U, 40-pound class, and Donavon Spry won the 10U, 60-pound class. Cael Powers placed third in the 10U, 50-pound class and Kaufman (who competed in two classes) also took fourth in the 8U, 40-pound class. Kaufman was recognized as the Most Valuable Wrestler of the 6U tournament. The event featured over 1,000 youth wrestlers from over 40 states. Powers and Kaufman also took part in the Dixie Duals for Team Minion’s Grades K-3 team, which placed fourth. Spry wrestled on Team Minon’s grade 4-6 team, which won the tournament. Spry went 9-0 between the two national tournaments.
