Amanda Wilbanks, founder of Southern Baked Pie Company, gave the keynote address at the Jackson County Area Chamber of Commerce’s Woman of the Year program on Thursday, December 3, at The Venue. Wilbanks founded Southern Baked Pie Company in 2012 in Gainesville. Since 2012 she has won numerous awards for her pies which are handcrafted using an all-butter pie crust. She has expanded her business to four retail, storefront locations in Georgia, Gainesville, Alpharetta, Buckhead and Vinings. She has earned praise from O, The Oprah Magazine, Garden and Gun, Taste of the South, Southern Living and more. She is also a frequent guest lecturer and the author of her most recent cookbook, Southern Baked: “Celebrate Life with Pie” which has been her mantra and mission since day one. Northeast Georgia Health System made a $250 donation to the Thumbs Up Ministry on her behalf. Wilbanks sold autographed copies of her cookbook at the program.
